Paddle Testers

  • Aspectos Generales
Hach paddle testers (also known as dip slides) are designed for testing water samples, non-viscous liquids, and surfaces.

Paddle testers are self-contained and ready-to-use.
Paddle testers allow rapid, easy, semi-quantitative screening where unsanitary conditions may exist. They routinely used where the level of microbial contamination is high. Monitoring with paddle testers and recording the results over time gives a good indication of how microbial load is changing at a given site. They provide a simple, on-site means of estimating the total aerobic bacteria levels as well as the yeast and fungi, total coliforms, or the efficacy of disinfection in liquid samples or on surfaces.

The paddle is double sided and attached to the vial cap. Each side of the paddle tester performs a separate microbial test. Paddle testers have a non-selective medium on one side for assessment of total bacterial count. The other side has a selective medium for specific organisms. The non-selective medium contains TTC (2, 3, 5 - triphenyltetrazolium chloride) which stains most colonies red and aids in the counting of microbial colonies on the solid culture media.

Suitable for water samples, solid surfaces, and non-viscous liquids. Simply sample, incubate, and document growth. No extensive training required.
